Pointe du Raz
Bénodet
From the Pointe du Raz, France’s Land’s End, in the north, down round to the resort of Bénodet, explore the very southwest corner of Brittany via the coastal cycle route. Most of the way, you follow the great curve of the Bay of Audierne, its southern point marked by the towering Penmarc’h lighthouse. Around here, the fishing ports of the Pays Bigouden area huddle together. Among the seaside resorts that follow, Bénodet is the best known. Also seek out the many Neolithic sites along the way.

The route

You travel along small roads following signs for the V5.
Note the steep sections between Audierne and Kerdréal.
Between Loctudy and L’île Tudy, we recommend taking the little ferry (but check the time schedules in advance). Otherwise, taking the longer way round, there is a cycle lane along the D 2 road from Loctudy to the town of Pont-l’Abbé; then heading east, another cycle lane along the D 144 road leads to L’île Tudy.

The signposts end at the port of Sainte-Marine. To cross from here to the resort of Bénodet opposite, the small ferry is as much fun as the bridge.
