Sainte-Hélène / Lacanau
Across the Médoc heathlands, the gentle scent of sea air already drifts through the atmosphere, mingling with the distinctive fragrance of pine trees so characteristic of this section of the Bordeaux–Lacanau cycle path. On this “soft mobility–only” route through the heathlands, you ride through the forest along a greenway; it’s easy to take breaks and enjoy the welcome shade of the pines—perfect for pulling a picnic out of your panniers and breaking up the monotony of the long straight stretches on the way to the sea. Breathe in the fresh, healthy air!
The Route
There are no difficulties on this route; however, be sure to respect right-of-way at intersections. Riding along this long greenway corridor can dull your awareness of priorities at crossings.
Services are scarce on this section of the route, so remember to bring a picnic and enough water to fully enjoy this nature escape!
