Ecomusée de la Forêt d'Orient

Guardian of the memory of people and traditions, the Ecomuseum of the Forêt d'Orient invites you to discover rural life through its folk art, crafts, and reconstructions. The Ecomuseum is a welcoming space for information and reflection dedicated to the richness of our unique regional heritage. Site 1: - The House of Days and Fields: the Agricultural Gallery, the Old Trades Barn, the antique tractor room, and various reconstructions (butcher shop, barber shop, dwelling, school, bistro, sewing room, laundry room, etc.). Site 2: - "The Shop": Blacksmith workshop, wheelwright's shop, farrier's shop, and early 20th-century mechanics in working order. Featuring the exhibition on babies, "When the Child Appears…", and two new rooms: horse-drawn carriages and firefighters. The Ecomuseum of the Forêt d'Orient is closed from December 1, 2025 to March 2, 2026 inclusive. However, adult and senior groups wishing to visit during this closure can book by phone as usual. School groups can also contact the association by phone and/or email to make an appointment and/or find information online on the website. The ASPRA team and staff look forward to welcoming you back on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, and wish you happy holidays. In 2026, you will be able to discover the model of the old mill, miniature agricultural vehicles, and a new exhibition dedicated to learning to read in primary school.
