La Boule d'Or
Description
La Boule d’Or has been in existence for over a century. It originally stood on the site of a 12th-century chapel built for the bishops of Bethlehem (who had taken refuge in the West). At the end of the 19th century, the building was converted into a travellers’ inn under its current name.In 2023, the long-dormant La Boule d’Or was brought back to life by a collective of creative minds, and is now a welcoming inn, a summer bar, offering a unique cultural programme, with cosy indoor and outdoor spaces.
The Auberge de la Boule d’Or has 11 simple, comfortable rooms, with views of the garden or the chapel, and no televisions. A communal kitchen is available for guests’ use. Breakfast, made with local produce, is served there every morning.
In summer, set amidst a former quarry dating back a thousand years, enjoy the cool shade of the garden and its open-air bar, where you’ll find remarkable natural wines, craft beers, healthy soft drinks and delicious homemade snacks.
As a ‘Accueil Vélo’ certified venue, a secure area and tools are available for our cycling friends.
The Boule d’Or venue can be hired exclusively all year round. Contact us to organise your training courses, seminars and celebrations here.
Whether it’s just for a drink, an overnight stay or a longer group holiday: treat yourself to a change of scenery in an inspiring, unifying, inclusive and alternative setting, where you’ll feel right at home.
The team at La Boule d’Or operates within the circular economy, striving to make a positive social impact whilst offering the very best the region has to offer.
