20,13 km cycling route from Corbie to Amiens
After visiting Corbie’s abbey church, reached via a magnificent Ancien Régime gateway, get back on your bike to head for Corbie Lock. From there, follow the south bank towpath along an unspoilt stretch. The Somme Valley slopes become gentler as you head for the suburbs of Amiens. This stage of the Véloroute Vallée de Somme, or Somme Valley cycle route, takes you on two short detours away from the towpath, leaving the many local anglers in peace. Going through Camon, on the north bank, you enter Amiens via the Hortillonnages, fascinating water gardens, enjoying views of the city’s magnificent cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Cycle Route
Along this stage of the Véloroute Vallée de Somme, or Somme Valley cycle route, you’ll spot several factories that once used the waterway to transport their merchandise. You cross the villages of Aubigny and Daours. At Lamotte-Brebière, the lock-keeper’s cottage has been turned into a little café, offering a welcome break before reaching Amiens. Our cycle route moves away from the towpath for a few hundred metres, taking the Route de La Canardière, surrounded by lakes, up to Camon. From Camon, the cycle route rejoins the north bank, taking you via the Hortillonnages (water gardens) into the centre of Amiens.
