POTERIE NOT

Description

The Not family have been potters in the small hamlet of "Médecin" since the nineteenth century. In 1947, grandfather Emile took over the workshop on the edge of the canal, since then children and grandchildren have followed in each other's footsteps and carried on the family tradition. Quality clay is extracted not far from the studio where it is worked and moistened before being used on the potter’s wheel. The pieces thrown in this way are then dried and placed in the authentic walled wood oven to be baked. Jugs from the Lot, terrines for local cassoulets, pitchers, grease pots from the Lauragais region, will take you back in time, as well as all sorts of reproductions commissioned by clients.
