Immerse yourself in a little story full of humanity in the heart of the First World War, far from the tumult of the front, in the village of Vignacourt. Louis and Antoinette Thuillier, true photography enthusiasts, immortalized their encounters with soldiers from all over the world on their farm. Between 1916 and 1918, the couple took more than 4,000 glass plates of photographs. At the end of the war, the plates were stored in the attic of the farm, where they have been forgotten until today. In the old barn of the farm, where the events really took place, Valerie and her team will give you an insight into the pictures on display to give your visit an extra touch of soul and emotion. Let it be said, here, it is not a fixed and monotonous presentation. It is a place of memory where the small history allows to have another glance on the big history. Opening hours 2022 April to October: Tuesday to Friday from 10 am to 6 pm and Saturday/Sunday from 2 pm to 6 pm - November to March: Tuesday to Saturday from 1:30 pm to 5 pm - Closed in December and January
