Maison de la Lavande Ardèche / Producer-Distiller & Museum
Experience Lavandissime at the Maison de la Lavande!
Welcome to the heart of the Ardèche Gorges, in an authentic setting. La Maison de la Lavande and its Lavandaïs estate welcome you from April to September, just outside the village of Saint-Remèze, a few minutes from the Pont d'Arc.
Three lavender-themed activities are waiting for you!
- A guided tour of the museum: Hop aboard the Petit Train des Lavandes for a tour of the estate! An unforgettable experience that will delight young and old alike. Enjoy an immersive experience in the 360° room with the show ‘Marius and the History of Lavender’. With a guide, you will then discover all the secrets of lavender in the Still Room and the Scent Room. Finally, watch the authentic extraction of essential oil by distillation using a vintage still.
Guided tour in french but our information boards are available in English and German. The entire tour is accessible in several languages by scanning a QR code: English, German, Dutch, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Korean, Chinese and Japanese.
Creative lavender workshops:
Guided by a facilitator, you’ll create three fragrant items: handmade soap, relaxing bath salts, a candle, massage oil or a lavender sachet. A fun time to share with family or friends! The workshops are open to children aged 5 and over when accompanied by an adult. Workshops in french only.
- The Treasure Hunt: a fun family activity that invites you to explore the estate at your own pace. Papé César has disappeared with his sheep – can you find him using your map and the 8 mystery locations? Along the way, puzzles and fun information boards will teach you all about the flora and fauna of our garrigue! The map and boards are in french only.
Organize your visit:
On-site bar, ice-cream parlour and snack bar featuring local produce, plus panoramic terrace. Shaded areas with picnic tables are available for lunch breaks. For children, there's an educational area on bees and a playground with zip lines.
Both our shops are free access.
The Maison de la Lavande & Lavandaïs shop will charm you with its lavender- and Provence-inspired products: essential oils, natural cosmetics, perfumes, handmade soaps, and lavender sachets!
The big new addition this year is the Comptoir Gourmand, a delicatessen where you can discover our local and regional products, with tastings available during the summer season.
Practical info :
- Free parking for cars, coaches and camper vans
- Pets allowed on a leash
- Our areas are accessible to baby carriages and people with reduced mobility.
- Walks and photos in the fields are free and highly recommended.
- Group visits possible for groups of 20 or more on request.
