A Historic Site: In the fully restored former Carmelite convent, the daily life of the slate workers comes to light. Coffee is sipped at the kitchen table, next to the stove. They slip on their work clothes and hop on their bikes. Upon arriving at the mine, they greet Saint Barbara. Then they head underground or stay on the surface to split, chisel, and cut.
