Description

Built between 1900 and 1905 in a neo-Renaissance style, the museum houses collections that bear witness to the history of the town and surrounding region from prehistory to modern times. A rich archaeological collection from the Bronze and Iron Ages provides information on a culture that flourished in the Haguenau forest. It is completed by the Gallo-Roman period, with exceptional objects such as a Roman legionnaire?s helmet. Several rooms are devoted to the history of the town since its foundation in the 12th century.
The museum also boasts a fine collection of Hannong earthenware and art nouveau and art deco glass.
