Description

Visit Château and gardens
A military stronghold in the 12th century, owned by the Cardaillac family, the fiefdom passed successively to the BARASC family and the Viscounts of CALVIGNAC. Purchased in 1638 by the Barons de LAPORTE, it was transformed at the beginning of the 18th century into a holiday residence richly decorated with gypseries, painted canvases, wood panelling and inlaid parquet flooring.
Stunning Italian-style gardens with ornamental ponds were also created.
Raymond SUBES, a renowned wrought-iron craftsman, lived here for 50 years and embellished it with an exceptional gate.
Purchased in 2011, the château has undergone a major restoration program. It is now furnished and inhabited by its owners, who provide guided tours.
