La Boucle de Bourgogne du Sud
We did this route from Macon to Cluny to Chalon-sur-Saône. Really varied: hills, a tunnel, views across vineyards and wheat fields, interesting towns, tree-lined paths and the river Saône. Well signed and GPX file was helpful. Thank you Francevelotourisme!

Great stage, lots of interesting countryside and villages. We stayed in St Bertrand de Comminges at the Candide, great hotel. Train back to St Gaudens was really easy, I recommend.

Wonderful trail. Was not expecting such a good cycle path. Gradual slope, easy to navigate, scenic, and no traffic. Limited services along the trail, so bring food and water.

There is about 30km near Bellegarde to where the Aigues Mortes voie verte starts which is very dangerous. The road has a 70km speed limit, most vehicles go faster than this. The road is very narrow and there are a lot of cars, vans, trucks and campervans.
