La Scourtinerie
Founded in 1882 by Ferdinand and Marie Fert, this family business is now run by Frédérique and her daughter Sophie, the 4th and 5th generations. The scourtin is a filter used to extract olive oil, woven from rot-proof, highly resistant coconut rope. Since the frost of 1956, scourtins have also been used as trivets and Provencal rugs. Discover the weaving workshop and the scourtin museum, retracing the history of the family business through the generations. Our boutique offers a wide selection of local and Indian handicrafts.
In 2017, La Scourtinerie diversifies and launches its new original creation: The Shade made of 100% natural fiber, rot-proof and weather-resistant.
In 2026, it reinvents its scourtin museum for an immersive experience in Nyons' local and family heritage.
