Musée du Scourtin
Heritage of Provence. An exhibition retraces the history of this family business since its foundation (divided into several distinct periods: 1882-1918, 1918-1970 and 1970-2000) and shows the evolution of scourtin manufacturing methods through the generations and the various inventions that facilitated it (scourtin loom patented by Ferdinand Fert in 1892, machine to remove the needles).
Numerous objects, found in the family archives, are on display, such as models of oil mills from different periods (from antiquity to the 19th century) made by Alain Fert. Finally, some of the ancestors of the Fert family, in the guise of human-sized papier-mâché mannequins, are represented at work, surrounded by numerous tools, giving a concrete idea of their way of working.
