La Littorale (V45), a 638km-long Breton cycle route from Roscoff to Pénestin
General information
La Littorale, or Voie 5 Bretagne, is still being developed on certain sections, and does not yet provide complete continuity.
The existing cycle route alternates between safe cycle lanes and shared lanes, with a majority of sections on minor roads.
Sections completed and signposted (600 km) :
- From Roscoff to Daoulas by bike (245 km): see stages
- From Plogoff to Guidel by bike (216 km): see stages
- From Étel to Pénestin by bike (133 km): see stages
Road signs, under the national numbering “V45”, are deployed on most of these sections.
Undeveloped sections :
2 sections are not yet developed (unmarked and unsecured routes); but train + bike alternatives via nearby stations make it possible to link up:
- Between Brest and Pointe du Raz (undeveloped): you can link this section by train and then via a 20 km signposted cycle route.
- Train connection from Brest to Quimper (1h20 by TER)
- Cycle link from Quimper to Pont-l'Abbé (20 km - download GPX).
- Between Guildel and Étel (undeveloped): you can link this section by a 10 km bike ride, followed by a 35 min train ride.
- Unmarked bike route between Moëlan-sur-Mer and Quimperlé (10 km - see route)
- Train connection between Quimperlé and Auray (35 min by TER)
Services & accomodations "Accueil Vélo"
Nearly 80 accomodations (campings, hotels, lodges, guest houses) "Accueil Vélo" ("Cyclists Welcome") are located at less than 5km away from the itinerary and they guarantee quality services for cyclists such as a closed garage for example. We strongly advise to book your accomodations in advance (including campings), especially in touristic areas.

In Finistère, during the summer season, the route is served by several bus routes equipped with bike racks from the BreizhGo network.
