Description

Enter the Nieul water mill, built in 1728. Still in operation, it crushes wheat and buckwheat for the Puyletard mill on the other side of the river Autise.

At the gateway to the Marais Poitevin, a stone's throw from the Royal Abbey of Nieul-sur-l'Autise, in the heart of this magnificent Petite Cité de Caractère, discover the life of the miller in the early 1920s, his daughter Suzanne and his cat Pompon, thanks to a lively scenography. A whole host of activities awaits you.

Immerse yourself in life as it was in days gone by!

For a fun, educational visit with children, from toddlers to adults, the Maison de la Meunerie offers: The games booklet

The Maison de la Meunerie shop is located in the barn and is open to all. It offers a wide range of designer items and local products, as well as a booklet dedicated to the history and collections of the site, and books. You'll also find flours made from organic wheat in its water mill, as well as butter and angelica cakes baked with the same traditional-tasting flour. The Maison de la Meunerie also has a wide range of souvenirs for visitors.
