Chambéry / La Terrasse

Between Chambéry and Grenoble lies the Grésivaudan Valley, where the peaks of the Belledonne and Chartreuse mountain ranges surround you. Along the way, a whole chapter of history unfolds: strategic sites that bear witness to an important border-crossing area between the Dauphiné and the Duchy of Savoy, such as Fort Barraux and the Château du Touvet. In the aptly named village of La Terrasse, cyclists can easily take a break at the leisure center and campsite. By bike, all the way to the entrance of Grenoble, the route continues through landscapes offering stunning views of the Vercors massif.
The Route
After your stop in Chambéry, you rejoin the greenway south of the city, heading toward Myans. From there, pleasant small roads lead you to the charming Lake Saint-André, then to Chapareillan, nestled in the heart of the Cœur de Savoie vineyards.
From Chapareillan to La Terrasse, you continue for 20 km along low-traffic roads. This section is one of the hilliest parts of the route, but it remains very popular for its viewpoints and is easily manageable for families.
