Aiguillon / Villeneuve sur Lot

This is a connecting section to the Canal des 2 Mers, signposted via Tonneins from Bordeaux, or via Damazan and Aiguillon from Agen. Aiguillon, which overlooks the confluence of the Lot and the Garonne, marks the official start of the cycle route, from the north side of its bridge over the Lot. Enjoy this region at the confluence, rich in architectural heritage as well as vibrant local produce such as strawberries and prunes…
Cycle route
The route mainly follows small local roads with a few sections on minor roads with moderate traffic. Between Casseneuil and Villeneuve-sur-Lot, there is a lovely greenway built on the old railway line and running alongside a stream. The route has no significant elevation gain and is suitable for any experienced cyclist.
Signposting is sporadic, so keep an eye out for signs, particularly in the villages.
