From the towns of Bordeaux or Agen, join the beautiful Lot Valley Cycle Route via the Canal des 2 Mers Cycle Route. Then, crossing extensive orchards in the county of the Lot-et-Garonne and elegant vineyards in the county of the Lot, the meandering Lot Valley véloroute passes countless traditional riverside and perched villages. From Cahors, a captivating city of art and history on the road to Compostela, the itinerary is provisional until the sportive crossing of the Aveyron department. Unless you choose the easier route to Conques. With soon a continuation towards the source in Lozere.

The Lot Valley Cycle Route : from Aiguillon to La Canourgue

The Lot Valley Cycle Route wends its way along 430 km, crossing extensive orchards in the county of the Lot-et-Garonne and elegant vineyards in the county of the Lot, passing countless traditional riverside and perched villages. Discover the Lot Valley lifestyle, which combines a delight in local produce and gastronomy, outdoor activities and remarkable cultural heritage. 

Signposting and state of the itinerary

The Lot Valley Cycle Route is entirely signposted. 

The route is mostly set on shared roads with few traffic. Few climbs on the itinerary / to join the villages in the heights.

Services and accomodations "Accueil Vélo" ("Cyclists Welcome") on the Lot Valley Cycle Route

More than 30 accomodations (campings, hotels, lodges, guest houses) "Accueil Vélo" ("Cyclists Welcome") are located at less than 5km away from the itinerary and they guarantee quality services for cyclists such as a closed garage for example. We strongly advise to book your accomodations in advance (including campings), especially in touristic areas.

Trains and public transports alongside the Lot Valley Cycle Route

  • Aiguillon Train Station : several trains heading to Bordeaux, Agen, Toulouse.
  • Monsempron-Libos Train Station : trains TER to Périgueux-Agen and to Bordeaux & Toulouse through Agen. TER Bus for Cahors.

  • Cahors Train Station : trains TER to Toulouse. "Intercités" for Paris-Austerlitz.
