Détours de Loir en Loire

Un tour à vélo à l'identité marquée, tous publics, au départ de la capitale de l’Anjou. Avec pour décors successifs : la vallée du Loir, les secrètes vallées du Langeron et de la Brenne, et pour finir l’incontournable Loire et sa somptueuse ribambelle de châteaux. Cette boucle à vélo permet de relier facilement entre elles les deux pittoresques vallées du Loir et de la Loire. La densité en châteaux est ici phénoménale ! En famille, il vous faudra un budget conséquent pour visiter au fil de votre avancée ces joyaux du patrimoine. Et aussi peut-être expliquer aux plus jeunes l’homonymie et la disparition du “e” entre la rivière affluente et le fleuve royal, en somme le tour de passe-passe du petit loir à la grande Loire.

Détente en bord de Loir

Au pied du château des ducs d'Anjou, une escapade à vélo qui vous emmène, non pas vers la confluence de la Loire, mais vers la vallée du Loir. Cet écrin de nature préservé est idéal pour les vélo-fureteurs en quête de chemins pittoresques et de belles découvertes artistiques ou historiques. Les marais le long du Loir constituent ici un véritable espace naturel inspirant et ressourçant.

Derrière les roselières, sur des petites routes ou chemins de campagne, au fil des barrages et des moulins, le randonneur à vélo s’émerveille des villages pittoresques et des châteaux. L’élégant et habité château du Lude est une des plus imposantes pépites de cette balade au fil du Loir.

Robe de pourpre et Trôo… troglodyte

La maison natale de Ronsard à Coutures-sur-Loir et l’étonnant village de Trôo - au nom qu’on dirait emprunté à une histoire fantastique de Tolkien - sont encore deux immanquables sur cette étonnante Vallée du Loir à vélo.  

Après Montoire-sur-le-Loir, l’aventureux cycliste s’engage plein sud vers Tours et les bords de la Loire sur la St-Jacques à vélo. Il sera alors temps de se parer de sa pèlerine pour emprunter une des voies mythiques vers St-Jacques de Compostelle ! En chemin, le village de Lavardin vous éblouira par son charme pittoresque. La montée à pied en haut du château vaut de garer son vélo un instant pour profiter de la vue panoramique.

Objectif Loire

Après ce petit intermède sur la St-Jacques à vélo, on accède à la Sérénissime Loire à Vélo par les coteaux du vignoble de Vouvray. À Tours, la Loire ondule en tourbillons et s’enroule paisiblement autour de l’île Aucard. La lumière est là, si limpide, et La Loire à Vélo vous guide tranquillement jusqu'à Angers, sur une des plus belles sections de véloroutes de France !

C’est ici un festival de sites remarquables à visiter : 

  • Château de Villandry et ses jardins,
  • Château de Rigny-Ussé et son orangeraie,
  • Abbaye royale de Fontevraud,
  • Forteresse de Saumur surplombant le fleuve,
  • Village troglodyte de Turquant,
  • Anciennes ardoisières de Trélazé
    Et pour boucler cette boucle de la Loir à la Loire, retour au château d’Angers.

From one bank to the other of the Loir valley and after the imposing fortress of the Kings of France in Durtal, the Angevin stage continues on small roads or country lanes through dams and mills. Villevêque is a historical and artistic place where you can swim or canoe along the Loir River. In Cantenay-Epinard, the route joins the Vélo Francette, allowing you to discover the low valleys of Angevin and then the famous town of King René.

Enjoy the meadows, hedgerows and lakes as you pass through the valley. At Vaas, riding beside the Loir, go and see Rotrou Mill. Then continue on towards Le Lude.

At Montoire-sur-le-Loir, cross the river to reach Lavardin, a member of the association “Les Plus Beaux Villages de France”, its houses tucked below castle ruins.
