L’échappée bleue - The Saône valley by bike

  • 228 km

L’échappée bleue is a national cycle route also known by the name La Moselle-Saône à Vélo. It stretches from Apach, on the Luxembourg border, to the city of Lyon. Crossing France from north to south, for cyclists, it is the vital link between Northern Europe and the Mediterranean. Having meandered calmly beside the Moselle River, it then follows the banks of the Canal des Vosges, before joining the Saône up to Lyon, where Saône meets Rhône. From Lyon, you can join ViaRhôna (EuroVelo 17), guiding you right down to the Mediterranean...
