Jardins du château du Lude
At the end of the 19th century, landscape architect Edouard André designed a formal garden at the foot of the terrace, along the banks of the Loir, and laid out a vast utility kitchen garden. The whole complex opens onto an agricultural landscape and merges into an English-style park. A woodland follows the meander of the river, punctuated by a kiosk, the remains of a tiny rock garden. In 1998, Augustin d'Ursel redesigned the "Jardin de l'Eperon" on the former fortress, with compartments of Chinese roses leading to the labyrinth and an exceptional viewpoint. This ensemble of several hectares surrounds an imposing castle.
