Come visit this important site of world prehistory, which traces more than 70,000 years of human history. This internationally renowned site, excavated and studied for over a century, has been open to the public since May 2017.
An educational trail, an exhibition room dedicated to archaeological professions, and a visit to the heart of the cave, featuring an immersive sound and light show, retrace the lives of the human groups who sporadically occupied the cave. The tools, hearths, and bones found here reveal a picture of skilled toolmakers and experienced hunters, a far cry from the rustic image long associated with Neanderthal humanity.
