This EuroVelo 6 stage goes along the regional border between Burgundy and Auvergne. In fact, there’s a detour you can enjoy on a new greenway beside the Canal Latéral à la Loire in the Auvergne county of Allier. The official route sticks to quiet roads through Burgundy’s Charolais hills. The suggested detour is easy and accessible to all.

Route

Greenway by the Canal Latéral à la Loire from Digoin’s canal-bridge to Diou and Gilly-sur-Loire. Take care crossing the bridge between these last two. The official route is along quiet, signposted roads, through hilly terrain with slopes.
